So after owning my 2014 Note for a month I took it in this morning over concerns about the rear bumper. I felt it was far too off-color and the wrong finish, and was hoping it could be resprayed to match the body better like the front bumper does.

Well, the service person took me over to the other Notes on their lot. They all look like that, where the rear bumper is way off paint-wise. Why does the front bumper match better than the back?

Anyway, here's a heavily edited shot of 'dat ass' which is not a basis for comparison on because its been blurred and filtered to all hell.

just because they are all like that doesn't mean that it isn't what it should be.

Call the area service manager.

I've seen things like this happen before. I think it's the Altima or Maxima that when in white the bumpers are more pearl than the white white of the body.

I say it's just an excuse to get a super dope fly body kit and have it resprayed to match

Bumpers may be painted on separate part of the line from the body, and that setup may not give as good a finish. or the way the bumpers are hung on the painting rig may result in more overspray and/or worse coverage on the rear bumper.

Whatever reason, I would keep pushing the issue personally. Just because the factory did a bad job on all of them doesn't mean you should be forced to live with it.

we get customers in all the time for similar complaints. Even if they throw a huge fit and we order a factory paited replacement (on our dime), the color are always a little off. We've also ordered non paited parts and have them painted in our body shop and....... same thing. Customer leaves mad and we are out around $800 on scrap bumpers each time.

I actually kinda like it too. Reminds me of the Fit a lot - but like a bad ass fit.
